Rugby player Archil Gagnidze, detained in the case of Giorgi Shakarashvili, is charged

Rugby player Archil Gagnidze, detained in the case of football player Giorgi Shakarashvili, has been officially charged. As his lawyer Beka Nemsitsveridze said, leaving the main police department of Tbilisi, Archil Gagnidze did not admit his guilt.

“He does not agree with the circumstances specified in the decision. My client traveled to Mtskheta, but with a completely different purpose. He did not participate in any conflict. As for Amirkhanashvili, they took him to Tbilisi and dropped him off in Didube, at one of the petrol stations, ”Nemsitsveridze said.

According to InterpressNews, the family reported to the Ministry of Internal Affairs about the disappearance of Giorgi Shakarashvili on June 19, at about 11:00. The police, along with the rescue service, immediately began searching. After 4 days of search work, the body of the deceased football player Giorgi Shakarashvili was found in the Aragvi River. The case is being investigated under Articles 225, 143 and 126 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
