Archil Gagnidze stated at the court hearing that his right was violated when another lawyer was involved in his case against his will, – Vasil Mamulashvili, the lawyer of Archil Gagnidze, a rugby player accused in the death of Giorgi Shakarashvili, said after the hearing in Mtskheta District Court.

When a lawyer points out a possible violation of rights, he is obliged to reflect it in the judgment and another subsequent body to assess whether there was a violation of rights. “The court gave you a week before the pre-trial hearing to obtain possible evidence, and none of the lawyers took into account the fact that this deadline was not enough to prepare the case,” said Archil Mamulashvili.

For information, the pre-trial hearing of 5 people accused of premeditated murder under the aggravating circumstances of Shakarashvili will be held on August 27.

For information, the family applied to the Ministry of Internal Affairs on June 19 about the loss of football player Giorgi Shakarashvili. As a result of a 4-day search, divers found the body of football player Giorgi Shakarashvili in the water. 17 people have been arrested in this case, 6 of them are minors. Some of the detainees are charged with violence, organizing organized violence, participating in gang violence, unlawful deprivation of liberty, and premeditated murder under aggravating circumstances.

A few days ago, the prosecutor’s office launched a criminal prosecution of 5 people in the Toyota Belt passengers for the crime under Article 109, Part 2, Subparagraph “e”, which stipulates premeditated group murder. All of them have been sentenced to imprisonment as a measure of restraint.
